I have been told..

Do people lie to save themselves?
Probably, but I have this little theory that you can lie to save others too.
Protection,is the greatest sacrifice. Like a mother protects her children from the truth and reality of war, of the politics that are sending our country into a state of obnoxious catastrophe. Like a man will tell his wife to sleep tight as he stays awake worrying about the rougher parts of reality. Like the wonderful Caryl Churchill wrote Seven Jewish Children, about carefully moving a child from one part of the country to another without explaining why.
But the one's who lie are always the ones who suffer, no matter who is getting saved in the long run.
But, what else is there to do? You cannot burden a child with the truth all at once, and tear away innocence from them, deprive them of a little happiness before they fill their shoes and go out into the world to see for themselves, what a terrible, terrible state we are in.
Never the less, I am sorry.
